Twitter as an early warning system for natural and man-made catastrophes is interesting. I am curious to what extent all the twitter clones and other online mobile social networks like MxIt in South Africa, for example, are used for these kind of consumer, advocacy, and social purposes. Personally, I like to know what happened to the chicken. And why there were so many goats today on Twitter. But that is another story.
